HVAC is a job that is always in high demand so there are always many opportunities. We love working in HVAC because there is never a dull moment. It is very exciting because there are all kinds of different equipment to work with, the site changes daily with a different house and different people.
If you enjoy being outside, HVAC is a good career choice for you because you get to work outside at certain times and inside during other times.
If you like working with people, you get to meet all kinds of people and be their hero when you come to repair and service their heating and cooling equipment!
There is some physical labor in this trade but it is never anything too strenuous! It definitely beats sitting at a desk all day if you’re someone who doesn’t like to sit still and get a change of scenery every now and then.
You also get to use your head in the HVAC profession! You are constantly solving problems and finding new and more efficient ways to do your job! You have to be technology savvy and learn electrical diagrams, and more.
These days, many people think that you have to be a college grad to get a good paying job but you don’t! You can save so much money by not paying university tuition and going to a trade school.
So, there’s a lot involved in being a successful technician and as technology advances so does the pay scale of an HVAC technician! And, you can start in a relatively short period of time. Usually, it only takes five years or less from trade school to journeyman status. That means that you can be a top paid technician within five years if your abilities come to that point!
