Timeline for an HVAC Career
There are many options for schools you can attend, depending on your budget and location. Typically, it takes a year to finish school before you can start your career.
Starting wages after graduation are around $14 an hour, but you can advance quickly as you become more familiar in the field.
You can start earning even more once you’re a journeyman, which can take five years or less. A seasoned HVAC technician can $25-$35 an hour plus benefits! As you learn more and you become more engaged in the field, you’re worth only goes up because the experience is what’s very valuable.
Student Debt
Depending on the school you choose, your debt could be anywhere between $5,000-$18,000. While this can seem like a lot of money, it is a fraction of the cost to attend a 4-year school.
