Should I have the HVAC Equipment in my Rental Office Inspected?
The short answer is yes! If you are looking to rent a new space for your business, maybe you are just starting up, or maybe you are expanding to new locations- whatever the case, it is important to have an HVAC inspection in the new location for a few reasons.
What Type of Business Do You Have?
Different types of businesses require different levels and specific needs in regard to heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Not many commercial rental buildings are built to accommodate businesses such as hair and nail salons, tanning salons, and other businesses that require extra HVAC processes.
Take the tanning salon, for example; those tanning beds give off a lot of heat, so much so that a typical AC unit in a retail office rental space isn’t going to be able to cool efficiently.
Before you sign the lease, we suggest having an HVA technician inspect the systems in the rental to ensure they can handle the type of business you are opening.
Are You Responsible for Your HVAC Maintenance and Repairs?
Another reason why we suggest having an HVAC inspection before you sign the lease is to make sure your equipment is in good shape. Even if you’re going to use the space for a traditional office, you want the people in your business to be comfortable.
If you are responsible for the HVAC maintenance and repairs in your unit, you want to make sure they aren’t going to break within the first few months that you open!
