Forquer Heating has partnered with Virteom to answer customer questions and show our heating and cooling abilities through video.
On this week’s video, Forquer Heating’s own – Jim Forquer Sr. takes on the age old question “Is a heat pump good enough to heat my Northeast Ohio home?”
We know that Northeast Ohio is a cold climate, winters are really extreme so are the heat pumps good for it?
Are Heat Pumps Good to Heat Your Home?
A heat pump is a strange animal for Northeast Ohio weather. First of all, the main reason why northeast Ohio homeowners choose a heat pump is economical. The price point is extremely appealing to homeowners.
What Fuel Do Heat Pumps Work Best With?
If electricity is the fuel you use to heat your home, the heat pump is a good selection, because it costs less. Your heat pump can heat your home down all the way the outside temperature reaches 30 degrees. That’s when your heat pump will need a little help from another source – be it an electrical furnace or something else.
So it is a good source of heat for your home, but in the colder months you may need a little bit of extra support.
Electric Heat Pumps
Let’s take a look at one of these heat pumps here. So, this is an Armstrong air heat pump. Forquer Heating and Air conditioning is an authorized Armstrong dealer.
Is The Armstrong Electric Pump The Best Out There?
We like it! The Armstrong heat pump has an insulating blanket over the compressor — a scroll compressor — which is the best in the business. Not to mention, the Armstrong comes with a 10-year warranty on the equipment. We’ve found that we really hang our hat on the Armstrong – it’s been very good for us.
If you’re in Northeast Ohio when you’re looking to heat your home — heat pumps are a good option but they will require a little bit of supplemental work. The nice thing with the heat pump is that you’ve got a 10-year warranty, it’s very economic.
